The best leaders aren't remembered for their slides.
They're remembered for their stories.

  • Turn strategy into a story your team rallies behind
  • Build trust fast, before you've built a track record
  • Persuade upward, sideways and outward, not just down
  • Make people feel the reason, not just hear the plan
  • Hold a room even when the news isn't good

Is This For You?

Who this is for.
And who it isn't.

This is for you if

  • You need to turn strategy, data or decisions into a story that actually moves people
  • You're already competent and technically right, but it isn't landing the way it should

This isn't for you if

  • What you actually need is general delivery and stage confidence rather than narrative strategy, see the Public Speaking page instead

Why It Matters

Good storytelling sets
great leaders apart.

Jargon and information overload leave employees with a glazed look. The leaders who cut through are not the ones with the most data, but the best story.

📣

The Skill

Why storytelling is a leadership skill

Leadership is effective communication. As a species, we've been telling stories for millennia, since sitting around fires in caves. Through oral tradition, books and film, we've always absorbed complex ideas through story. It's just how our brains work. Learn to wield storytelling and you become a better communicator. Become a better communicator and you become a better leader.

🤝

Trust

It builds trust, not just attention

Human connection is built on trust, and data doesn't build trust. Instead, we learn the story your data is telling. We show your team why their part of the work actually matters. That turns compliance into buy-in, and a team that buys in produces better, and produces more.

🧭

It Moves People To Act

Leadership means influencing up, sideways and outward, not just down.

A good story doesn't just inform, it takes people on a journey from where they are to a decision. That's what separates a leader who gets nodded at in a meeting from one who actually gets the outcome they walked in for.

How It Works

Coaching built around
the stories woven into your business.

We not only teach you how to discover your story, but the performance techniques in how to tell it as well.

💬
How the coaching works

We start with a conversation about what you actually need to communicate, and who to. From there we work on real material, a strategy update, a pitch, a difficult message, using storytelling technique and delivery coaching together, not as two separate things.

💻
Flexible delivery

One-to-one or small groups, flexible depending on what your business needs. Sessions run in your office or online, depending on what fits best for you.

🎭
Where the method comes from

The approach draws on conservatoire actor training, not a corporate communications model. It's the same craft used to make a story land on stage, applied to the moments where you need it to land in the room.

Where This Gets Used

The moments where
a good story changes the outcome.

Owen works with your actual material in the session. Not invented scenarios. The real thing you need to get right.

📊

A strategy or board update

  • The plan is solid but the room glazes over the moment the slides start
  • You need people to remember it, not just nod through it
  • Owen works on shaping the update into a story people actually retain
🚀

A pitch or investment ask

  • The numbers are strong, but the pitch isn't landing the way it should
  • VCs invest in people, not products
  • Owen works on reshaping the pitch into a story worth backing
📣

An all-hands or town hall

  • The more people in the crowd, the more there is to lose. With the right story, you can inspire your whole company at once. Don't lose that opportunity in a fog of statistics.
⚖️

Delivering difficult news

  • Every workplace runs on a hidden curriculum of reward and punishment. Ignore poor behaviour and you're rewarding it, and slowly it eats away at your integrity. Learn how to have difficult conversations in a way that doesn't alienate your employee, but also safeguards the harmony of your workplace. When people feel like they work for a just boss, they work harder and more effectively.

Questions

A few things worth
knowing before you book.

Is this the same as a general public speaking course?

No. This is specifically about turning strategy, data and decisions into stories that land, and about the leadership situations where that matters, board updates, pitches, all-hands, difficult news. If you want general delivery and stage presence instead, that's covered on the public speaking coaching page.

Do you work with teams, or only one-to-one?

Both. Sessions can be one-to-one or run with small groups, whichever fits what your business needs. Either way, the material we work on is built around your actual stories, not a generic script.

How many sessions do most people need?

It depends on what you're preparing for. Some clients come for a single high-stakes moment, a board pitch or a big announcement. Others build an ongoing skill over several sessions. We'll figure out what makes sense on the free intro call.

Is it delivered online or in person?

Whichever works best for you. Sessions can run in your office or online, so it fits around a leadership schedule either way.

What if I don't have a specific event coming up?

That's fine. Plenty of clients come to build the underlying skill rather than prepare for one moment. We'll work with whatever real material you bring to the session either way.
